Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or death. Some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications.

April 9, 2018: Widespread influenza activity is being reporting in California. While levels have declined since late December 2017, take steps to protect yourself and your family. Get immunized against influenza, if you haven't been vaccinated already this season.  Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes and mouth. Avoid close contact with sick individuals.  If you do get sick, please stay home from work or school until you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours. Together we can fight the flu!
